Overview

Ranked among the top 100 universities globally, McMaster University is home to over 70 research institutes and over 37,000 students.  McMaster University was founded in 1887 in Toronto.  The first faculties were Arts, Science and Divinity.  In 1930, the campus was shifted from Toronto to Hamilton.  In 91957, McMaster became a publicly funded institution.  It is a top-ranked university in sports-related programs as well as clinical and health programs.

TUITION FEES

C$47,500 per year approximately for tuition fees.  Housing and meals on campus would be an additional C15,000 per year.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

Entrance awards are given to incoming students based on merits like academic, community involvement or leadership.

Automatic Entrance Scholarships:
  • The McMaster University Award of Excellence: Valued at $3000. The selection is based on high school admission requirements
  • Faculty-specific Achievement awards: Valued at $1000. This is for Humanities and Social Science faculties.
  • Faculty-administered Awards: Valued at $1000-2000. These are for students entering the School of Business
  • International Students are also eligible for International Entrance Awards ranging from $7500-210,000

STUDENT HOUSING

International students are guaranteed on campus housing.  The Residence and Meal Fee includes a fully furnished accommodation, access to residence faciities like laundry, kitchen and study rooms, wifi accessiblity. Different meal plan options are available to students.  Fees for the year ranges from $6475 for a  Quad sharing accommodation to $10,950 for a single room with a shared bathroom.
