Overview

The University of Toronto is a public research university which was founded in 1807 and is located in Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario.  It is the top-ranked Canadian Universities in all global rankings and has the highest funding for scientific research.  Some of the top subjects that are taught here include Biology, Business Analytics, Mathematics and Computer Science. Over 29,000 international students enroll in this university every year. 

ADMISSIONS

Requirement for International Students

International Baccalaureate (IB): Conditional admission is granted based on predicted results.

India: CBSE or ICSE Grade 12 results or State Board Exams

January 15 Deadline for admissions for the Fall Semester

Applications can be made online or through paper forms

All applicants are required to present proof of English fluency for all undergraduate programs. The following tests are accepted by the university:

  • Cambridge English: Minimum score of 180
  • CAEL: Minimum score of 80
  • Caribbean Examinations: A final grade of A or B
  • Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 120
  • ELDA: Minimum score of 86
  • GCSE/iGCSE: Minimum score of B
  • IB English: Minimum score of 4
  • IELTS Academic: Minimum band of 6.5
  • PTE Academic: Minimum score of 65
  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 89

TUITION FEES

$62,000-69,000 per year

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

The University of Toronto offers scholarships to International Students. Some of the scholarships are for particular subjects

General Scholarships:

  • Terry Gardner Scholarship in Peace Studies: $2100
  • James Hosinec & Carol M Isaac Scholarship in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences: $10,000
  • Undergraduate Research Fund: Not available
  • Brenda Evans Memorial Scholarship: $5000
  • University of Toronto Scholar: $1,500
  • Principal's Admission Scholarship: $2000

International Students are automatically considered for scholarships upon admission. For international students, the scholarships are limited, competitive and do not cover the complete cost of tuition fees

STUDENT HOUSING

The University of Toronto offers 3,811 residential spaces for undergraduate students at the St George campus, 592 at Mississauga campus and 536 at Scarborough campus. Room charges start from $4000 and with meals it comes to $7000 for eight months of stay (2 semesters). Family housing is also available. Off campus housing is also available. Rents can vary from $400 to $600 per month for shared accommodation.
